Age Has No Bearing on Starting a Business or Something New

Being young often has advantages when starting a business, but getting older does not put you at a disadvantage. Keep learning new things, keep thinking, and take action. Repeat that process. I believe that is the essence of entrepreneurship.

One of America's marketing gurus, Rich Schefren, says, “Everyone can improve their ability to learn: early in life, when the brain is immature and developing; when the brain tries to compensate for areas lost through injury; and when we learn something new as adults.”

And you can improve your ability to learn at any age.
Improving your ability to learn can give momentum to your output—your actions.
So it is never too late, whatever your age.

If you often say, “I'm too old to understand this new such-and-such,” why not change it to “I'm older, but I'll try to figure out this new such-and-such”? When you declare something about yourself, your brain programs itself accordingly. Try figuring it out first. If you still do not understand, or realize it is not something you should spend your time on, you can leave it to someone else.

I believe learning, youthfulness, and the ability to act form a trinity. Even if you are young, neglecting to learn and keep thinking leads to inaction and makes you grow old. Even if you are older, continuing to learn and think leads to action and makes you energetic and youthful.

Someone who keeps learning is young, even at 80. Conversely, someone who stops learning is old, even at 20. The most wonderful thing in life is keeping your heart forever young.
